In the PINK Ink asked our in house expert Tracy about what a bride should do to prepare for wedding dress shopping. You would think this topic wouldn’t be very complicated but we found out we were wrong! You have to remember you will only be shopping for your wedding dress one time in your life, so make that time count and be prepared.
Step 1- Budget
Make sure you have already planned out how much you want to spend and stick to it! There is nothing worse than falling in love with a dress you can't afford, we promise no dress will ever compare.
Step #2- Pre-Screen
Look through magazines and websites. Get an idea of what is out there and what your expectation is. What fit do you like, do you like beading, lace etc. The questions will be asked and you’ll have a better experience if you know what you like. DISCLAIMER to brides though don’t walk into a boutique with a photo and expect to get the exact dress. Just remember to do some research, determine styles you like, and just remember we aren’t all built like the models <3
Step #3- Whose in your group!
This is a day you will want to remember, not a day you will hopefully forget. Plan wisely when determining who will come with you on this day. Determine how much space is available as well; if you and the consultant have a hard time fitting in the room, best advice is to have the extended family stay home.
Step #4- Appointments
Almost all wedding dress boutiques and stores require an appointment. Take time off from work, allow yourself ample time at every store, this is a process that shouldn’t be rushed.
Step #5- Prepare yourself ;)
Most would hope that step #5 wouldn’t have to be listed but this is the #1 complaint made by most consultants. Shower, shave and wear appropriate undergarments. You as a bride will need to envision yourself the way you will look on your special day, so unless you are planning your wedding to be held at the next Woodstock event, make sure your looking pretty <3
Till Next time
